Gamifying Your Community
One of the hardest things to accomplish in keeping a community running is keeping community members engaged. Engagement is always at the forefront of any community owner’s mind, and Returning.AI is equipped with multiple avenues to generate community activity.
Let us explore the extensive gamification features you now have at your disposal to drive engagement not only within your community but also on your external social media accounts.
Fueling Activity by Rewarding Users
The first step in setting up gamification for your community is enabling members to ‘earn’ rewards through their activities. Rewarding members for their actions acts as an incentive for increased activity levels.
Two forms of units can be earned in your community:
- Experience Points (XP): These are points used to gain levels, advance through community tiers, or achieve specific roles.
- Community Currency (Coins): These are a form of community currency that can be exchanged for rewards in the rewards store.
Each unit can be given a unique name and icon to distinguish them visually. Styling your units to fit your brand can be beneficial in providing members with a branded community experience.
The earnings of specific units are tied to specific community actions. The amount earned for each unit from each action can be customized to better suit your community goals.
Community actions that can be coupled with rewards are:
- Sending a message
- Replying to a message
- Reacting to a message
- First visit/login of the day
- Referring new users to the community
Encouraging Community Referrals
Rewarding users for referring users to your community is one way to implement a referral system that spreads the word about your community.
So, what counts as a referral? Well, that’s for you to decide. You can customize your referral program to ensure that the referrals being made must be of a certain quality before members are rewarded for their referral. For example, the referred user could be required to send a set amount of messages or achieve a specific role in your community before qualifying as a quality referral. Here are a list of requirements that you can configure for your referral program
- Send a specified number of messages
- Reply to a specified number of messages
- React to a specified number of messages
- Be logged in for a certain number of hours
- Constantly log in over a certain number of days
- Achieve a certain @role in the community
